[BUG] Acronis reports "failed action" but there is no issue visible

Thread needs solution

ATIH 2016 b6027

On one of my computers ATIH keeps reporting "failed action" even though when I open ATIH, even by double clicking on the red icon in the systray, there is no issue visible with my Acronis jobs. Both have green checkmarks but on the top left there is a red indicator that also means something went wrong.

I cannot upload the system report due to its size of 61.78 megabytes!

Dear Acronis Team, please state me an alternative location where to upload my system report for this case.

Hello Karl

Thank you for your posting! Please send the logfiles via product feedback and reply to this thread after the logs are uploaded.

Thank you,

Hello Ekaterina,

thank you very much for the quick reply. I've submitted the feedback incl. the system report from the affected machine.

One addition, since my post the situation has a changed a bit and I do now see the troubled job. But as you can see it was different, so no errors visible and now it is.

The error message "cannot find selected partition" is not understandable anyway because nothing changed on the partition layout since the last successful backups.

Dear Ekaterina,

I have done the following:

select the troubled backup job

open the source disk / partition list

expand all partitions, all partitions were still selected, as I've said nothing changed on this system.

the next scheduled backup job worked fine again with no errors. I still have no idea why Acronis True Image reported this issue about missing partitions.

Sometimes I think, I have some gremlins working here over night.

I would like to keep this bug report open, else you want to close it, because it might be still interesting to look for a possible issue, and most of all why the display was not consistent, means systray / menu reported an error but the job had a green mark first of all, then reported the cause later. This is strange enough, but it happened.

This never happened again so far. Any idea why ATIH did react so inconsistent in regard with the error message or not showing it?

Hello Karl,

Thank you for additional information! I've found two documented issues with the same messages: one issue is related to the cloud backup and occurs when selected folder for file backup to Cloud doesn't exist and the second issue occured with recovered GPT disks due to the changed disk ID. I would suggest that we continue monitoring the existing task.

Thank you,

Alright, thanks for your time! The cloud scenario does not apply here though, as I was backing up to an external USB 3 HDD.
