You can't clone to a partition. You can only clone a complete disk. If you want to restore a partition from your old HDD to your new SSD that can be done. You first have to make a backup image of the partition on the HDD and then restore that to the D:\ partition on your SSD. Tools like mini-tool partition wizard http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html are designed to help in siuations like this. Be sure you have a backup before doing any changes.

Unfortunately, my situation is a bit tricky, not sure your suggestion will work?

I have a 1 TB SATA drive with ONLY like 27 GB [ Recovery + OS + Another Partition ] used in the front of the Disk. It came from a Brand new  DELL PC, that I just bought a week ago, there are several Partitions for Recovery and OS   + SOME fat 32  STUFF , the rest of the Disk is unused.

Can I clone that to a   2 Partitions that I created from a 120 GB SSD  >>   C:// 55 GB  and D:// 55 GB , for Dual Booting

Wish to stick it onto the  D:/  Partition

If you use cloning you have to clone the entire disk to the new ssd. Can you post a picture from Disk Mangement of the disk layout with partitions?

I'm assuming by looking at the disk layout that you want to clone Disk 1 to disk 0. If you do that you will wipe out everything on Disk 0 and replace it with a copy of Disk 1. As I said before True Image does not support cloning from or to a partition. It only works with complete disks. See http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2016/#30481.html. Mini-tool partition wiizard can copy partions from one disk to another. I can't address dual booting becuase I'm not familiar with the process.

Thanks - I decided to do a Disk to Disk clone,my "ideal" outcome, seems complicated and I have even tried EaseUS Prtition Master Pro. but to no avail, just c get corrupted the OS when I was done.TfmY6

Hi Matt,

As correctly pointed out earlier, you can't clone to a partition. You can only clone a complete disk.

In your case I would recommend to create a back up of the necessary partition and then restore it.

Hope this will be helpful
