Can't see backups in Acronis Secure Zone

Thread needs solution

Having a strange problem with True Image 2016 + Windows 10. I was able to create the Secure Zone partition without any trouble and have been able to create backups to the Secure Zone without any trouble... but when I browse to the Secure Zone (either in Windows Explorer or through the TrueImage "add existing backup" interface), it appears to be empty - I can't see existing backups in the asz. It's not such a big deal as long as the settings are saved in the app menu, but I can't access existing images in the secure zone from other OSes (including Acronis bootable recovery media) or after reinstalling/updating the program.

I've tried reformatting/recreating the Secure Zone, to no effect. I even wiped & reformatted the entire hard drive that it's on, in case there was something corrupted in the bcd/gpt causing the problem, but after reformatting the drive & recreating the secure zone, I still can't see the existing backups in the secure zone.

Just wondering if anybody else has seen this?

Hi Chris,

The Secure Zone in the 2016 version of True Image does not work properly. I have reported the weaknesses to Acronis Support and the failings have been passed to senior management. I have been promised that it will be fixed in a future Acronis update.
In the meantime you should be able to see your backups in the Secure Zone by booting into the recovery environment. Your backups should be listed there and work as a restoration source with no problems. Try booting again using your recovery media and if the backups are not visible hit the "browse for backups" button and they should appear. If they do not come to light you should remove and replace the Zone using the given Acronis tools.

It is important to only use the Secure Zone wizard to create, resize or remove a secure zone. This can be done in the recovery environment when it is not visible when booted in Windows.

I took the Cowards way out and reverted to TI 2015 build 6613 because there are so many useful features provided by a properly working Secure Zone. I will return to TI 2016 when it is fixed.

Hello, Chris.

The issue with the backups not being visible when opening Acronis Secure Zone in Windows Explorer is a known one and is being fixed.

However, the backups should still be visible when browsing for backups in True Image itself. Is that not the case for you? Are you sure that the backups are indeed created successfully in the Secure Zone?
