Chain2Gen Failure

Thread needs solution

After running C2G with 2016 successfully for about a week, including an episode of restarting the chains, Acronis_PreProcessing_task.bat has begun failing.

TrueImage shows:
The last backup failed.  It will be restarted at 7:30 AM  Execution of user command C:/Chain2Gen/RonBP/Acronis_PreProcessing_task.bat failed. Error code 1.

Error_messages.txt in the folder shows:
MESSAGE from:20160528_07:21:23-->
could not reach device [pushd \\DISKSTATION\RonBP]

Nothing has changed in my system between when C2G worked and when it failed, except I had manually turned off the computer for several days instead of just several hours.

Typing the above UNC path into the Windows command box (lower left corner) opens the proper path in File Explorer.

Manually running !_USER_SPECIFIED_PARAMS_FOR_ACRONIS.bat is successful, and it finds the appropriate directories.

Executing the pushd command from the CMD window results in the appropriate network drive mapping. (Drives [C-I] and [Y-Z] have been manually mapped, so `X` would be the appropriate drive mapping in this case)

How to troubleshoot this further?

Ron, if you have a system backup, created when Chain2Gen was working fine, you can save current state of the system, go back to working state by recovering from that backup and see whether Chain2Gen continues running fine. If it will be failing, there must be some problem with accessing network drive indeed as reported in "could not reach device [pushd \\DISKSTATION\RonBP]" message.
