Different full backup size - decreased by a half!
Hi
I accidently deleted my incremental backup regeme and so set up a new one - Incremental again.
I have just run the first backup and noticed that the resulant file size is around a half that of the previous full backup (1st Jusy) - 253,848,848KB as opposed to 505,799,125KB. The used space on the HDD (2TB) is 717,007,609,856KB.
I don't recall deleting vast ammounts of data so what has happened to the missing data?
I'm not doing a sector backup. I'm currently running W7 and need to backup the system disk before I move to W10. I will also be cloning the HDD before I do the update.
Any help or advice appreciated.
Thanks
Pietro

Thanks for repling Steve.
I was not able to do the 2nd option as the backup was a TIB file - and so not an image.
I was also not able to do the first, as I deleted the TIB and Logs from earlier when I deleted the regeme. I did try Log File Viewer on some other log files, but it only worked once and then hung every other time I started it.
What I have now done is delete all the regeims that I had, moved all TIBs to a safe location and set up a new incremental regeme. I notice this time that int he Disks and Partitions box it says 675.2GB, which I think is correct for the first backup in an Incremental series for this drive.
Fingers crossed that this works OK overnight and I can get goung with the clone before I do the upgrade to W10.
Thanks again
Pietro

Pietro, thanks for the update.
All Acronis .TIB files can be either mounted as a drive letter (if it is of Disks / Partitions) or else can be explored for all types of backup .TIB file.
Good luck with the new backups.
