Last Backup Doesn't Appear

Thread needs solution

I've used TI since version 8, and am now running 2016 Build 6581. Acronis customer support, or lack thereof, is rediculous. Anyway, I am having an issue in 2016 with the last backup listed as Never Performed on the backup screen with ALL my backups. The next backup is listed, but regardless of whether I do a manual backup or a scheduled backup, once they complete they never show up as the last backup, it just sways Never Performed. I also have the backup set to do a single version scheme, but since the program doesn't see the last backup, it doesn't delete it. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it since Acronis won't support anything past 30 days, rediculous. As a side note, I switched from a 3 computer mode to a five computer mode. I don't remember havng this issue previously, but since Acronis support is so poor, I haven't pursued this issue until now. I just delete the last backup manually, but this is a pain since I do weekly and monthly backups on all five computers.

Ron, this problem is indicative of a problem with the Acronis Database files which store information about the backup history etc.

Just to correct your statement about Support for ATIH 2016 - this has been extended, along with that for 2017, so that users of both versions now have 2 years of support from date of purchase.  So if you want to contact Support about this issue then do go ahead and do so.

Returning to the problem you described, I would recommend forcing a rebuild of the Acronis Database - you will lose all your backup history in doing so, but then have a clean slate upon which to build this information again.

To do this, you must first stop all Acronis Services and Processes to prevent any locks on the files involved.  Start by stopping the Services, then ending the Programs.

Next, in Windows Explorer, navingate to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ and either rename the Database folder to Database.OLD or delete the folder.

Now, when you restart / launch the main ATIH 2016 application, the Services and Processes will be restarted and a new Database folder will be created with the files needed to store this information.

Please note that manually deleting backup files can cause the database to become confused / corrupted - if doing so, please always perform a validation for the backup task after deleting files - this will try to reconcile the database with the actual status of backup files held.

Ron, that's good, thanks for giving the feedback.
