new backup take an unreasonable amount of time

Thread needs solution

I did a disk image from my old 240gig to a new 1tb ssd drive and installed it.

There is only 137gig used on the drive.

I want to do a fresh backup chain.

There are no issues with the new disk, its works fine and is very fast.

Acronis is estimating 13hours for back up. I could copy the whole drive to my backup drive in less than 1 hour.

I understand compression will take some time, but not 12hours, the processor in my computer is a 3hgz i7.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Mike, sorry but more information is needed here:

What actual version of Acronis software are you using here?  This forum is for ATI 2016 which is now 6 years old - are you using this version?

What compression option are you using for the backup?

What are you backing up to and how is that destination location connected?

Acronis backup estimations are regularly massively inaccurate at the start of the process and will change as the process continues and more data is available to allow a more accurate estimate to be generated!
