No automatic Backups since update to Acronis True Image 2016 build 6559

Thread needs solution

Since update to Acronis True Image 2016 build 6559 no backup starts after startup and login on my Windows 10 computer.

Before update all backups run fine on Windows 10.

Have anyone any solution for this problem?

Hello Ulrich,

Do you have backups which are scheduled to run immediately after Windows starts?

If so, then one of the issues resolved in build 6559 is keeping Windows Fast Start enabled, which in turn means that the system does a hybrid shutdown (aka hibernates) and then restores from hibernation, thus some scheduled tasks may not detect that a shutdown / restart has occurred.

From the Build 6559 List of Changes announcement:

This release includes the following issue fixes, increased stability, and performance improvements:

  • Acronis True Image 2016 disables Windows 10 fast startup

I have the same problem.  It worked fine on TI 2014 but with TI2016, latest build it does not.  I reported it to support on Sunday with additional files, as requested, sent yesterday.  I'm awaiting a response from Support.

Hello.

Yesterday I deactivated Fast Startup.

Today, after startup and login, all backup tasks have been started and run fine.

Thank You for the help.

Just to post my solution:

I'm on Win 10 and after update TI 2016 Cloud 6027 to 6559 (via the in-app option) backups hanged on start, log saying

id=7; level=4; module=1; code=500; date/time=27.04.2016 20:38:58
message=Failed to open (initialize) the computer.; line_tag=0x3A7BDDAE28734532

Clicking on "stop" to stop backup process had no effect. TI hanged saying "in progress"...

Did a reinstall using the repair option with a full download of TI with deactivated Norton Security. Without restarting it seems to work now as it should.

While the first in-app update Norton was active. Just as fact, not sure there is any connection.

Booting this afternoon, with Fast Boot disabled, the delayed backup ran OK.

Thanks folks.

Glad to hear it!  Alternatively, if you have a slower spinning drive and need to keep fast startup enabled, you can copy the following into notepad and save as a .bat file on your desktop.  Then click on the .bat file to close down the system "fully" even though fast startup is still enabled.

shutdown /s /f /t 0

fyi... here are what the switches do

/s = shutdown              /f = force             /t 0 = do not wait to shutdown
