danzeq,

Please describe your situation in greater detail...Type backup, and any exclusions in the backup task.

It is normal for ATI to compress the data, to save disk space.  10% compression is typical.

Do you believe that some files were not backed up because the backup is 10Gb instead of 11Gb?  Have you checked the tib file for specific files and they were not in the backup?

In addition ot FrtPilot's comments (which are correct), depending on the folder in question, defalt exclusions may also be at play (some user data folders in "C:\users\yourname\appdata" are excluded by default and can be added back by removing them from your exclusions tab.  If this is another folder/area, compression is most likely the reason you have a smaller backup file than the original source folder and this is normal.  Mounting the image and verifying the contents will help confirm this.  Additionally, try restoring the folder to a new/test location and comparing the results of the restore to the original - you can use somethign like TreesizeFree, Mindgems foldersize free, or beyondcompare trial version to compare two folders and look for differences.
