Overlong reboot times
I've just installed Acronis True Image 2016 and it seems to work fine except for this: When I reboot my HP desktop (Windows 10) I get a message that says Acronis will take at least two minutes to close since it is working on a backup. In fact, it takes just under five minutes to reboot (!) and Acronis is not running a backup at the time. This did not happen during the Acronis trial period. Nor am I doing anything different from what I was doing in the trial period (i.e., I have not yet starting backing up to teh Acronis Cloud.) A five-minute restart is unacceptible; what can I do about this?

All my windows 10 installs are doing the same as yours running stuff in the background bloatware. I fixed it by uninstalling and going with a different backup solution. This was the worst piece of garbage I have ever operated and been doing it for 35 years. Just an example got ready to post this and guess what their are no post buttons. They do have a button that says save but I don't want to save I want to post. Their software is filled with this kind of garbage

Thanks for your candid comment. I hope you're wrong, considering what this program cost me.
I have just run Safe Mode and Clean Boot on my Windows 10 PC. Both operations took the same amount of time to boot as before. I think that means that the problem is with Windows and not the install programs.
I will call Microsoft back tomorrow and see what happens.

After spending a full day working with tech support for Microsoft Windows 10 and Acronis TrueImage, I can report the following:
With Acronis installed on my Windows 10 PC desktop, booting and or rebooting took 12 or more minutes. Running Safe Mode and Clean Boot with all startup programs disabled produced the same result. This suggested that the problem was with Windows and not an individual program.
However, removing Acronis entirely from the computer immediately reduced reboot times two under two minutes. I tried this experiment twice with the same result.
According to a Windows tech person, this suggests that a "rogue" program not detected by Task Manager was running when Acronis was installed. That program was somehow responsible for the extra startup time. (For the record, the extra boot time occurs while the Windows logo is displayed, just before the login window.)
I have forwarded all this information to and Acronis tech person who has taken several log printouts from my computer. I am awaiting a response.
