Recovery on different HDD

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I wrote a month ago and got no answer (through your "ask a question" software, included in the help of Acronis !!
I want to recover my system & data

I'm using and saving thru Acronis:

1 SSD 250 Go (system)  , 1 HDD 250 Go, 1 HDD 50 Go

I want to recover only myb SSD 250Mo on a 4 To HDD - onto which I want to backup, aftewards, my datas !

What Should I do ?

Thanks !!

Bonjour,

J'utilise acronis pro depuis longtemps.

Je veux pouvoir récupérer mon disque système, alors que j'utilise:

Backup du système comprenant plusieurs disques ( 1 SSD 250 Go (système) , 1 HDD 250 Go, 1 HDD 50 Go)

Je veux récupérer mon seul disque système sur un disque de 4 To.

Que dois je faire ??

You're asking for a step by step of how to do this?

How long you been using Acronis up to this point? If not long (or at all), I would learn how to "clone" between the SSD and the 4TB. It will save you the effort of finding out to recover which can be slightly more complex.

Just a minor problem with cloning which is you may experience a "disk signature clash", which is solved by formatting the SSD post clone.

Thanks Richard,

As a matter of fact, I'm using Acronis since 4 years. I never used it ti recover my whole system and data.

The fact is that I am using a "complete backup" (disks & partitions)

planfied every evening at 9:00 pm, incremential method of 3 hard disks. 1 SSD 250 Go (system)  , 1 HDD 250 Go, 1 HDD 50 Go

I wish to restore all that on a single 4To HDD.

This is my original question: can I do this, and where do I find the method ?

More: You kindly talk of cloning the SSD drive onto a bigger drive. Where can I learn that ?

Thank you so much !

YouTube is usually a good resource. Otherwise have both HDD's connected, boot with Acronis recovery media (in-Windows cloning is not trustworthy IMO). In the Tools menu, look for "clone drive". Use the automatic method where you choose the source (SSD) and then the destination (4TB) and click go! Restart using 4TB and see how you go, but I'm wondering if it will be bootable if the SSD is MBR vs GPT partition. You might have to resize the 4TB system partition to <= 2TB for it to work and that is another story altogether.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Finally, I undertand that to clone a system, one has to clone it onto a similar HDD. And even so, The cloned disk will not be bootable...

And for saving datas, I need to use the fils method, not the entire disk.

Have I got it correctly ?

Thank you
