Recovery - Failed to Open Backup...
I purchased True Image to transfer a Microsoft Surface book with a defective screen to a replacement unit (identical hardware, so should be able to restore disk image without issue), but have been unable to complete this task. I've successfully backed the original unit up to two different hard disks (to rule out a bad disk) with multiple attempts on each (to rule out a bad backup), but every attempt to recover to the new unit yields the same error message:
Failed to open backup <File Directory/Name> Make sure the backup location is accessible and contains all versions of the backup. This backup may also be corrupted.
I've also validated each backup on the new machine before attempting restore. Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Steve is correct - WinPE offline bootable recovery media will be needed for the Surface Pro's which use the newer PCIE NVME hard drives as driver support is not yet in the Linux default bootable media (although that should/might change with this months anticipated 2016 update - we'll see when it comes out). Don't forget to disable secure boot on the Surface Pro as well so that it will allow the USB to boot and be sure that it only boots in UEFI mode (not legacy/CSM) which is a black background with white text only at the initial Acronis menu.
