Recurring Error Indicating Need for Chkdsk

Thread needs solution

Using a trial version of Acronis True Image

Running Windows 7 Professional

Attempting to create an image on an external USB device

Near end of image creation get the error - see attachment

Tried a different external USB device and receive same error message near end of backup indicating the application cannot read from the devices.

Have run Chkdsk E:/f on both external USB devices.

Anyone have an idea of what I can do to complete the creation of an image?

TIA

Leonard, this error with Disk 1 is saying there is a bad sector on your source drive, not on your external USB target drive.

Acronis numbers drives from 1 whereas Windows starts the numbering at 0.

Please run the CHKDSK /F /R against your source drive, i.e. CHKDSK C: /F /R - you should use the /R parameter to do a drive surface check which will look for bad sectors.
