Service Scheduler is not running
On two different pro x64 PC Windows 10, I see the same problem with ATI2016 v19.06581 (or earlier): "Service Scheduler is not running."
However the display of services by the "services.msc" command shows that the Acronis Scheduler2 Service is well on "automatic" !
It's a little painful to have to restart this service each day on each machine for scheduled backups run ... Such unreliability is deplorable.

Pierre, thank you for the further information - all looks the same as on my own system.
One of the other MVP's has put together a couple of batch command files that can be used to control all / any of the Acronis Services that may be useful here.
See post: https://forum.acronis.com/forum/126716#comment-396593 then click on the links shown there for the two text files (Start_ / Stop_ ) which can be renamed from .txt to .bat (or .cmd) and edited to start / stop only specific services.
The alternative would be to suggest either doing a Repair or Clean install of the application but if all else is working fine that may be a step to keep for later.

FYI - on some computers, the Windows services take longer than expected to load, which delays the startup of other 3rd party services as a result. If too much time passes before the 3rd party services are able to begin their startup, they mail fail to do so automatically.
As an initial trouble shooting task, if the scheduler service is constantly not starting after a reboot, you can try changing the startup type from automatic to "automatic delayed" which will cause it to wait until all of the other "automatic" services have completed (approximately 2 minutes) before it then tries to start.
I am not running 2016 currently so can not test if this is a bug in 6581 or not. However, I would suggest submitting feedback through the application and attach a system report to make sure it is sent to the developers as well (just in case). If others start to mention the same behavior in the forums, that would help identify if this is a bug or not. version 6581 is pretty new right now though and this is the forum post with this behavior so far.

Thanks for these informations and links.
Of course I already tried a repair and an ATI2016 re-install, but without result. The "scheduler" service does what he wants on all computer...
Since the problem seems to affect many others users, it is rather to repair his Acronis product. This lack of reliability is really deplorable for a backup tool! I will uninstall it from our machines and replace them with more reliable freeware like Cobian Backup, DriveImage, ... or return to the 2011 version which was much more efficient ans safe!

Thank you for this answer.
The 6581 version is not at issue, because the problem existed in previous versions of ATI2016 (6077 and initial).
I'll try the "automatic delayed" option for "scheduler service".

Worth a shot and let us know how it goes. I can't really say what the issue might be in your setup. This is definitely not normal behavior of the product though and I've only seen a few posts with similar behavior. Generally, if nothing else works, a full cleanup and reinstall does fixt the issue. However, it may take a little more than just running the control panel add/remove programs to really start with a "fresh" install again. If changing the startup delay does not help, and you're still up for trying a truly clean install...
0) Remove from control panel first and then do the following:
1) download the cleanup tool (it works for 2017 too)
2) right click and "run as administrator" to run it - follow procedures listed in the KB article linked above (you can usually skip the registry checks, I never check them)
3) After cleanup, check for leftover directories (some of these are hidden folders so enable "show hidden folders and files in Windows" and delete them if they exist:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common\Acronis
C:\Program Files\Acronis
C:\Program Files\Common\Acronis
C:\ProgramData\Acronis
%userprofile%\appdata\local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database (delete the contents inside if there are any)
4) Reboot (not shutdown - if using Windows 10, fastboot may be enabled and you need to reboot to trigger a full shutdown instead of hibernation)
5) download the most current full installer from your account and verify the checksum of the file to make sure it matches.
6) temporarily disable Anti virus programs (this may not be necessary, but if you're here already, it's not going to hurt with the process and may help)
7) right click the installer and "run as administrator" even if logged in as an admin
Hopefully it installs correctly.

Thank you for this procedure that I keep preciously,
For now, it seems that delayed the start of Acronis services act positively on the scheduler and it is stable over time on all our machines. The problem would therefore resolved by this back door.
Not very serious anyway for a product that has to be reliable above all ...

Thanks for the feedback. Really glad that using the delayed automatic setting on the service was all it took in this instance. It's really not that uncommon and why Microsoft has the option. It's just not used by default for most services as it's usually not needed, but there for just these types of reasons.
