Should I use entire PC or disk and Partitions?

In the past my PC just had one partition and I did an image, all was well.
My new Dell Windows 7 pro has 3 partitions, one is a recovery, the other just says Dell, neither of them have a drive letter. Then there is the standard drive C with the operating system.
My question is does the Entire PC option in 2016 backup all 3 partitions? Shouldn't I do disk and partitions and select all three to image, then I could recover just one partition if needed? Can you even select partition when recovering with 2016?
I have played with Macirum Reflect and it doesn't give option for entire PC, does disk and partitions and you can select which partitions to backup. Actually, it selects all three by default, but you can deselect.
While I am here, is it worth going to 2017 if I am happy enough with 2016. I would like a log file which 2016 took away and adding date and time, but I can live without those, well I do miss the log file. Makes me feel better to see a good log file. Also, have they put back easier way to delet backup images, used to be able to start restore, right click and delete and it updated the Acronis data files.

Please see the Log File Viewer app which has been produced by one of the MVP's - there is a link in my signature below, this can be used with ATIH 2015 - 2017 to get easy access to the log files in a formatted way without needing to read through lots of XML data.

I had already run the backup by selecting check box to do all 3 partitions and it seems to have worked. I had enough problems I have restored that image 3 times now and now have things working like I want. The restores went fine and I noticed the last display you seen for about a millisecond was something about restoring MBR.
I am keeping this image for a long time. Will start another set for 3 images, run manually and use the Entire Disk option. The 3 partitions was simple enough, but will make it more idiot proof by using the complete disk.
Thanks for help. Is Grover still around or did he go into retirement?
