Spam Blizzard
Immediately after I created a username and password online in Acronis i experienced a blizzard of spam, 436 to be exact, the likes of which i have never seen. Immediately changed my email password...coincidence? I think not. Has anyone else experienced this? It's left a very bad taste....

Me neither. However spam can originate from anywhere. Emails can be gleaned multiple ways and often originate when your email is compromised from someone else that has your email in their contacts. Coincidence, possibly, but seems to be unique in your situation.

mom, I too have not experienced any form of spam blizzard as you are reporting, but in reality we have very little information to go on here to know exactly what you have encountered?
Have you deleted all the spam emails, are you still getting these spam mails?
Have you checked the source details for these emails to check where they are originating from?
The email headers can shed a lot of light on where this type of spam comes from - this may be an option to show the headers depending on what email program / client you are using. I use Mozilla Thunderbird for email and can highlight an individual mail then press Ctrl+U to show the email source data including all the header information.
I also subscribe to the SpamCop reporting service which allows me to forward my spam emails (as attachments to include the header information) and can help to get spammers shutdown on the servers they are using or have hijacked.
