System disk not detected anymore

Thread needs solution

Dealing with something strange. I have a backup set with the source being my C: drive (disk and partitions backup mode) and it has been working flawlesly for the past year. Then, last Thursday, I start geting notifications from TrueImage that the backup fail. When I checked Today, the "source" is not pointing to a disk any more and if I go to change source for the backup, all my disks are displayed but disk c:.

If I try to create a new backup, same issue for disk mode but if I use file mode the disk C: is visible... I did some reserach in this site and Acronis seems to blame this problem to the c: disk not having an valid MBR and provides a procedure that destrois all the data in the disk... Not very user friendly and when I check with other Windows utilities, indeed my C: disk has a valid MBR.

Anybody had a similar problem and figured out how to solve it without having to rebuild a perfectly healty drive c:?

Thanks for any advise.

Chuck.

Chuck,

If your computer boots OK, then I would assume that the MBR is valid.

Can you create a new backup task (disk/partition) with the C: drive as the source?   That's what I would try.
