Taking a backup deletes other backups

I can confirm that this has never been a problem for me when using ATIH 2016 or 2015 as far as I can remember, so I guess that we will need some more information from you in order to try to understand what is going on in your case?

Can you provide the log(s) for where other backups have been deleted automatically?

Can you also provide more details of how your backup task(s) are configured, what cleanup options you have selected, whether your backups all go into the same destination folder, or whether you use different folders for different backup tasks?

Thinking on this a little further, there was one instance I can remember where something similar occurred but that was following a restore of a backup image to an earlier point in time and then when the next scheduled backup ran, it deleted the backup image with a time stamp that was later than the restore point image I had used to recover the system.  This was using ATIH 2016 and the restore was of a Vista system on my dual-boot laptop, where ATIH 2016 is installed on the Windows 10 boot system and backups / restore ran from Windows 10.

If ATI deletes backup from other tasks, that means the database is corrupted. ATI maintains a database of which backup files belongs to which task, where it is stored, etc and use this information to perform cleanup tasks.

To fix this, shut down ATI, rename the c:\programdata\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database folder and relaunch ATI. If the problem persists, repeat and rename also the ...\Scripts folder. Then relaunch and "add" your existing backup, reconfigure it. Th database fix should be enough though.
