True Image 2016 has stopped working...will not backup or even try

Thread needs solution

Tried to backup my computer today and it will not function.  The program opens, everything looks proper but when I click on BackUP Now, it just sits there!  I even re-programmed it to backup a few minutes after I reset it, nothing!?  Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried restarting the computer and if so, do you still have the same problem?

Try using the Acronis Scheduler Manager to check if you have any backup tasks that are 'queued' and preventing your backups from running.  You can use the get list command to show what tasks are scheduled, and task zap to kill any that are holding other tasks up.

I would also recommend downloading a copy of the Log File Viewer app and checking the logs for your task(s) too.

And as a quick test, try creating a new "test" backup and run it and see if it runs or not too.

If you've rebooted and still not working, chances are it's a VSS problem.  Acronis backups rely on Microsoft VSS by default which is Windows backup service.  You can turn VSS off or disable it for backup jobs (if it is not working... you would need to check your Windows system logs in computer management though) and Acronis will then use its own proprietary snapapi backup method.  It's a simple task to test...
