what to do if the disk image is corrupted ?
Hi,
I made a disk image with verification. Everything OK.
But if I try to upload it, the image is corrupted. Does anyone know if there is a possibility to recover it (even just the files)
THANKS

Hi Steve and thank you for your answer,
My version of Acronis True Image is 2016 for PC version (i have also 2021 version on another PC)
The format image file is .TIB
For "image" I mean when I charge the "full backup image file": I see the file, but I cannot enter on it.
I try to restore the full disk image from an external drive to my PC.
The program says that the file is corrupted, but I want to know if I can restore a part of it.
Thank you

Mario, what is the actual image file name, i.e. does it look like MyBackup_Full_s1_b1_v1.tib or does it have different extra information added to the backup task name in the file name, i.e. MyBackup_Inc_s1_b2_v1.tib?
If you have a file with either _inc_ or _diff_ then it is a part of a version chain and you will need to have one or more earlier files in the chain for it to be valid, i.e. there must always be an initial _full_ first file in the chain, and there could be earlier _inc_ or _diff_ files depending on the settings you are using.
If the file is actually corrupt then there are no tools provided by Acronis that can recover data from the file.

MyBackup_Full_s1_b1_v1.tib

Have you tried to run validation for the Full backup file? Validation will tell you if the file has been changed since it was written to disk when first created? It does this by reading a series of checksum values embedded within the file and comparing these with new values calculated from the file - if all matches, then the file is considered to be valid.
Unfortunately validation is not a guarantee that the file can be recovered as the backup could have captured corrupt data from the source drive when it was created or could include any virus or malware infection etc.

Yes. I did it.
I also saw that it's not a guarantee.... :D
Thank you
I had to reinstall everything :')
