Windows 10 system not shutting down after backup

I have True Image configured to do a complete backup of my system every night and then shut the system down. This is what it's done fairly reliably for the last few years (previously on Windows 7). It completes around 5:00 a.m. A couple of months ago, however, I noticed that when I come into my office around 8:00, the system is usually just sleeping rather than being off (about 10% of the time it will be off). If I tap a key or wiggle the mouse, it wakes up and tells me it will shut down in two minutes, which it does. Then I can start it again without any problem.
Any idea why it's not consistently shutting down, and how to fix it? Thanks.

Thanks, thomasjk. In the past, I've used a post command to shut the system down since the built-in shutdown feature was unreliable. I disabled the post command and re-enabled the built-in shutdown and last night it worked fine. Hopefully it will keep working.
