Active Protection False Positives With Dell.ClientFramework

Thread needs solution

I keep getting messages along the lines  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\My Dell Client Framework\Dell.ClientFramework.exe" prevented from accessing registry key

I have added C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\My Dell Client Framework\Dell.ClientFramework.exe as Trusted to the Manage Permiision List and also added it to Ransomware pProtection EQxclusions but it makes no difference.

How do I stop this happening?

Martin, Active Protection is a very new element for the ATIH 2017 New Generation product so I would recommend opening a Support Case directly with Acronis Support for this false positive situation so that they can investigate this further with you and determine why your permissions list is not stopping the messages?

Thanks Martin.

I promised to come back on this.

Support passed it to the developers and after they have looked at it flor some time, they have responded to me today as follows:

"We have discussed the issue with Developers and they informed that the issue is in the product and will be fixed in next coming version 2018 which will take 3-4 months to release."

I don't have a problem with this - it's a new product and they have found a bug in it which only comes up in  a very specific situation and  they will fix it in the next release, nothing wrong with that, it happens all the time. I give Acronis full marks for honesty - they didn't try to pass the buck to Dell which some companies would have done!

Martin, thanks for giving this feedback, good to know that the Developers are being both open and honest about these bugs when they have investigated them.  The good thing here is that as ATIH 2017 New Generation is a subscription only product, you will get ATIH 2018 with the bug fix as a free upgrade so long as your subscription is valid.
