ATI 2017 unresponsive when launching

ATI 2017 has become unresponsive for a couple minutes every time I launch it. This started about the time I installed an update, about a month ago. I am at build 554 and running WIN 10. Anyone else have this problem?

I few times where this has occured, simply running the full installer (download from your account), making sure to right click and "run as administrator" even if logged in as an admin, will prompt to "repair" the installation and may resolve the issue.
Others have found that some of the background services are using high CPU and have disabled those they don't need (for instance, if not using the mobile device features, turn those off. Attached are two scripts you can use to manually turn off services or turn them back on. Just add or remove :: where you want them. I've attached the ones I use as I don't use mobile services or nonstop backup. ONce they are on your system, change them from .txt to .bat files and then right click and "run as administrator" when your run them (which you shouldn't need to do often).
And if that doesnt' help, you can try renaming the database folder and letting Acronis recreate it. https://forum.acronis.com/forum/101541#comment-367973

Acually the last update I was talking about was the ATI 2017 update, but I have also installed the anniversary update. Thanks for the quick reply. I will try and delete and recreate the backups (I have 10 of them, so it will take a while and will be a hassle)

Hi Randy,
If you do the database repair option, you should not have to recreate the scripts from scratch again unless you do a full on cleanup with the cleanup too (https://forum.acronis.com/forum/126092#comment-391779).
But, if you do do the database reapir obption, you would have to go in and select the source and destination for each script though so still a little bit of a pain.

Are you saying you installed the 5555 update and the behavior occurred? If so, I would send feedback to Acronis with a system report. I had some weird issues with Windows file explorer after I installed it so I reverted to teh backup I took just before running the 5555 update. I plan to test the udpate 5555 more on my own system when I have time.

I am using 2017 Build 8029 and I am experiencing very slow start up and unresponsiveness.
For example, it just took 2 minutes for a backup options change to be saved.

Hairy Scot, it sounds like you have something else going on with your system given the slow performance you are reporting. We haven't heard back from Randy the OP of this topic so not sure if his actions per post #3 above have resolved this for him?
Have you tried creating a whole new backup task to see if this gives the same issue?
Was your upgrade to ATIH 2017 build 8029 an upgrade over the top of other earlier versions of the product, i.e. upgrading from 2016, 2015 or earlier? If so, you may be best advised to try doing a clean install of this latest build but try a new backup task before going down that route.

Hi Steve,
I did a clean install of the latest build and retried before reporting the problem.
The actual backup operations seem to run at a reasonable speed, my problem is that the user interface application itself takes quite some time to start and sometimes becomes unresponsive.
Would a system report be helpful?

Out of interest have you stopped any of the Acronis Services that may then need to be started when the application launches?
You are welcome to post a system report but not sure that it would show this type of problem unless there are other problems going on, but would need to know a date/time when you experienced the slow application launch to allow a focus point in the report data otherwise may be looking for a needle in a haystack!

Decided to retry clean install, but this time I used Revo Uninstaller to ensure everything was removed.
That seems to have done the trick.

Did you use the Acronis Cleanup Tool when you did the earlier clean install as this should do everything and more than Revo? Glad to hear that the problem seems to be sorted for you.

I've always found Revo to be very effective, but I'll get the cleanup tool for future use.

No problem - best to check you have the latest version of the Acronis Cleanup Tool if you are using it as it does get updated from time to time. I also use Revo occasionally along with IObit Uninstaller (though get fed up with the attempts to install extra IObit programs with that one).

Build 8029 fixed my issue. Startup is fast, as it was in ATI 2016.

Randy, thanks for the feedback / update, glad to hear all is working fine again.
