Automatic Cleanup Problem

I'm using ATI 2017 build 8058 and probably caused my problem. I'm doing full backups and automatic cleanup isn't supposed to keep more than 4 backups. I had a problem in July where I missed that my external hard drive mounted with the incorrect drive letter. My external hard drive is normally mounted using drive letter G for my backups, but I think there were two backups where it was mounted with drive letter D. When it was time for the backup created with drive letter D to be deleted, it couldn't be done because the external hard drive was mounted with the normal drive letter G.
This is where I may have made the problem worse. I used file explorer to delete the tib files I believed were created using drive letter D. I ran a Validate and replied Ignore for the missing version. After last night's backup failed to perform the automatic cleanup. I tried another Validate and when it put out a message about failing to find Version 1, I somehow was able to get it to issue the following message:
Failed to open item: G:\ASUS Backup V1\GARYS-ASUS Backup V5_full_b12_v1.tib
This file no longer exists on my external drive, and what is confusing is that the log from last night's backup indicates that automatic cleanup is looking for drive letter D. Message:Ensure that folder D:\ASUS Backup V1 is not deleted or renamed.
I thought the Ignore option from the Validate would cleanup the old, missing tib files in the database, but it doesn't appear to be doing it for some reason. I've run a couple of Validates, but I'm always getting the missing Version 1 message.
Is there a way to correct this problem? Should I start all over with a new backup scheme and backup folder on the external hard drive? If so, what do I do with the old tib files? Thanks in advance for your help.
