What exact tool are you trying to open here?

Please download the Acronis VSS Doctor and run this to check for any VSS (snapshot service) issues at work here given the reference to the snapshot manager.

I have run vss tool but still not working, I get the same error on all the tools and on backup does not show my drives and if I plug in my external drive it still asks me to plug in the usb even though it is in and shows in windows.

it seems the whole program does not work though when I reinstall it says intallation was successful all I get from support is to upgrade to 2019 but if 2014/15 and seventeen dont work then why would 19 work.

And as Acronis support wont help then I not very keen to purchase any more of there software.

I appreciate the help you are giving. The forum seems to be more helpful than support.

Kind Regards Alan

Alan, looking online at the specs for your ASUS VivoBook, it looks like you could have an NVMe M.2 SSD drive installed, which in turn could be using RAID as the SATA Controller mode in the BIOS, for which earlier versions of ATI may not have support.

I would recommend doing a full clean uninstall of your ATI 2017 software - uninstall normally via the Control Panel, then run the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link below) followed by a restart to complete the clean action.

Next, download a 30-day Trial copy of ATI 2019 and see if you are still seeing the same issues with both the Tools and also Backing up / seeing your drives etc.

If there are still problems, then you have free Support direct from Acronis for the 30-day Trial period which should be sufficient to confirm what the core issue is here?

You seem to have a version conflict with the snapman driver and it's dll file. This is usually caused by installing TI on top of an older version. You should uninstall TI and run the cleanup tool (shown in Steve's signature) to remove all of the snapman driver files. Then reinstall the program. That should fix your issue.

Hi All

Thanke you Steve ran the clean up tool and downloaded the trial all worked fine my vivo has a 1TB hdd and no ssd so should be fine with 2017 will be trying it out today.

I appreciate all the help I have had and found the Forum to be a great place for solving problems.

Kind regards to you all.

Alan
