Is it easy to revert the installation version?

Thread needs solution

I'm not pleased with build 8029 and was thinking about backing it out, but wondering the best way to do this.

I've got an ATI 2017 full installation from the end of last December. Would I need to do a complete uninstall and then reinstall from the older setup? Would that work and allow me to avoid updating to 8029. As I recall, I was given the option to update last week.

Yes you can go back to the previous version. I would do a clean install by running the Acronis True Image Cleanup Utility | Knowledge Base then install 2017 using the older build 5554. Updating is not mandatory. You can remain at the older build as long as necessary. You will have to recreate all of your backup tasks.

Hi BrunoC.

There's no direct roll back or downgrade from a new version to an old version

If you have a full disk backup and are willing to restore it, you could do that.

Otherwise, uninstall from control panel, run the cleanup tool for good measure, reboot and then install the old version from scratch.

Using the older version won't force you to upgrade, but will prompt you to do so unless you turn off the update notificaitons.

What's the issue with 8029?  Perhaps it was a bad upgrade?  If possible, you could download the installer from your account... be sure to right-click and "run as administrator" (even if logged in as an admin - this is key for software installations as it gives you real admin access that is not granted by default to admin accounts).  Then run the "repair".  After the repair, completes, reboot and then do whatever it is you're trying to do now and see if it works better or not.
