Shut down all current operations when I shut down the computer

Thread needs solution

I am doing a backup to the Cloud.

In Options > Advanced > Computer shutdown, there is a checkbox Shut down all current operations when I shut down the computer

It is pre-checked.

What is the difference, when doing a backup, between this being checked and this being un-checked? I don't find an answer in the manual.

If it is unchecked, it will continue to backup until it is complete and then shutdown. When not checked, it will end the backup (as soon as it can) and then shutdown.  Most people would probably prefer to leave it checked - if they are shutting down, they usually want it to shutdown right then.

Cloud backups will pick up where they last left off so it is fine to shut down (cleanly) while it is in progress.  Next time it starts up, it will rescan the sytem and compare what is in the cloud and pick up from there.

I think I got it. If it is unchecked, and a backup is in progress, when I shut down the computer shut down will not happen immediately; rather the computer will shut down when the backup is complete.

Am I correct?

Chris, yes that is correct.  When doing a Cloud backup this can take a very long time to complete hence if this option is checked, the system will shutdown when an appropriate pause point has been reached, otherwise shutdown will be delayed until the backup is complete.
