Some partitions contain errors and can be imaged only sector-by-sector.

Thread needs solution

As the title says, when I use the bootable image and try to backup my disk, I get this error:

"Some partitions contain errors and can be imaged only sector-by-sector. It is recommended that you exit True Image and check the partitions with your systems disk-checking tools. Are you sure you want to continue with imaging?"

Disk is a brand new Samsung 860 Evo SSD. I have tried a few tools, including Window's own chkdsk, to try to find issues with the file table, partitions, or sectors, but no errors were found. I can't do a simple backup.

What are my options here, except doing a sector-by-sector?

Thanks in advance.

ner0, please can you confirm exactly what you are doing here?

What exactly is the 'bootable image' that you are using?
Is this the Acronis bootable Rescue Media that you have created from the ATI 2017 Windows application using the Acronis Rescue Media Builder program, or was this downloaded as an ISO image from your Acronis account and written to a CD disc, or something else?

The message: "Some partitions contain errors..." can refer to hidden/system partitions on your new SSD which cannot be checked by using CHKDSK as they do not have a drive letter given to them.

This is the same issue I am having Steve. I have a Samsung 512gb SSD. The first image was perfect. The second I got that same prompt. I ran chkdsk/f and it still is doing it. Any options?

Daniel, all OS drives have either 3 or 4 partitions, with only 1 that is visible and assigned a drive letter (C: for Windows), but your backup task will include the hidden / system partitions where this type of error message can originate from.

Try checking the whole Samsung SSD using the Samsung Magician tool that they provide.

The alternative is to try eliminating the hidden / system partitions from the backup task by deselecting them one at a time from the Source selection.  You will need to click on the Source, then on Disks & Partitions, then on the SSD and finally, click on the toggle to show / hide hidden / system partitions that is in the lower left of the panel.
