Stop backup to Cloud

Thread needs solution

Apologies if this has been asked before but can anybody tell me how to turn off a backup to the Cloud?

I set this up some weeks ago when I bought Acronis 2017 NG but it was taking forever so I now back up to a local disk. However, I could not see how to delete the cloud backup operation. When I switch the machine ( Surface Pro 4 ) off, it shows a message saying that ATI is cleaning things up. A few minutes later it finally goes off. Similarly, when I start the machine it takes longer to boot and surfing generally is slower. I assume that this is because ATI is using some of my bandwidth.

I have left the machine on all day to see if I can get rid of it, but it is crawling along at a snail's pace and I doubt that it will ever complete the backup.

There is a button allowing me to pause the process but I want to kill it completely. Could somebody please tell me how to do this?

Many thanks.

Charles, please take a read through post: 116226: [ISSUE] Can't delete Cloudbackups! and see if the suggestions offered there will help you with this problem.

Hi

I have the same problem... I want to stop the current backup (which has been running for three days now) so that I can adjust the backup settings to focus on a smaller, more vital group of folders (this was always my intention but, during the upgrade to ATI 2020, it seems to have grabbed additional high volume photos folders).

As stated by Charles, the interface shows an option to Pause the running backup but not to Stop it. Can anyone help?

[The link provided by Steve Smith does not address this question of how to stop a backup that is in flight; instead, it covers deletion of a backup routine.]

Thanks, S

Simon, short of allowing the backup to complete the main suggestion would be to open a support ticket direct with Acronis support and enlist their help in how to do this?
