"Terminating current operations" when there should not be any operations
Hello,
I use Acronis True Image to do backups once a week, on Monday. That's the only day there should be an "operation". But multiple times over the past few weeks I have gotten the following message when I shut down my computer (which I do every night): " Acronis true image is terminating the current operations, please wait. The computer will be turned off automatically in about 2 minutes."
Note, I've been running my once a week backups for probably 2 years with this program and i never got this message before, so I have no reason to believe that this is normal behavior/what the program *should* be doing every single night.
My conclusion is that whatever Acronis true image is doing, it should not be doing it... there should be no current operation. Acronis Nonstop Backup Service is stopped, so it's not that. The only running service is Acronis Scheduler2 Service, which I assume I need in order for it to know when it is time to do my Monday backups.
Does anyone know what Acronis is doing and how to get it to stop while still retaining my ability to have a scheduled backup each week?

I did the "get list" thing and I don't understand what I'm seeing. I have 5 tasks that start out ~TrueImageHomeNotify* /dummy /script:. I have two start refer to the TIH folder, ga_service.exe and ga_service.exe /ransomware - a description which makes me a little nervous. Then there's TrueImageMonitor.exe /shutup. These are all under my user account. Then there's one that's under the system account, prl_stat.exe for_scheduler.
Before I task zap them all... do they look legit to you??

All the get list entries sound fine to me including the ransomware one which comes from the Acronis Active Protection component. Any of the required task entries will be automatically recreated after being zapped when ATI is restarted.
OK thanks. One more thing. I am reluctant to zap right now because I've found that anytime anything goes wrong with my backup (e.g., the drive fills up so the backup stops, or something is wrong with my network and the backup stops... probably other things too), it starts back with a full backup again. A full backup is very big for me and takes a long time; I do one full followed by 5 differentials. Do you know any way to tell it, when I recreate the schedule, to find the existing full and continue to do differentials until it's "time" to do the next "full"? I believe, each time, that I am doing this but... it never seems to work...

Zapping the scheduled tasks shouldn't cause any change to your backup scheme so shouldn't cause it to revert to making a new full backup - that normally happens when you change such as the automatic cleanup settings, or the number of incrementals before a new full etc.
Leave this until your next backup is due to be a new Full one if that would be easier to manage.
