Is there a way to change the skin of the interface of ATI 2017?

Thread needs solution

Check out this pdf I downloaded, today.

Please note:

  • the title bar
  • the side tabs i.e. (the skin)

So, seeing as how I have 2017 also, I'd like to know if it's possible to make my version of ATI "Workstation" (that's what it says under the Product "tab" for lack of a better word,) for the version I bought.

So if anyone knows how to do that, I'd like to be "enlightened." :)

Thanks in advance,

CotS

CotS, the document you are referencing is one that I wrote to help another user, and the reason why the skin appears to be different is because the document has screen shots captured from the Windows PE version of the Acronis 2017 Rescue Media instead of the Windows version of ATIH 2017.

There is no way to change the skin for the ATIH Windows application that I am aware and I have not seen this mentioned in any of the forum posts.

Ah, thanks.

What does PE stand for?

Windows pre-installation environment.  It's a mini version of Windows that allows some basic functionality, such as launching a backup program.  When you boot a windows installer disc or repair disc, it is running on Windows PE as well.

I just made my bootable USB  Let's Party! :)

But seriously, when it boots, it boots up with the "skin" I like. So, could I just use the USB to preform my ATI2017 tasks? (or would that not be advisable? (putting undue stress on the flash memory.) And if I ever really needed it, "too bad, you stressed it out by using it when you didn't have to." Or so goes my thinking, which would lead it to an early grave...

It's a Lexar "Jump Drive Sport" from circa 2006 that's seen little use.

What do you think?

You can boot and use your flash drive to your heart's content.  It's just like any other drive so at some point, it's bound to die.  However, WinPE is only reading from the flash drive and loading the files into memory so it's all reads and not writes on the drive when you boot it up.

The problem with WinPE is that it is static.  Any you changes you make to it, are removed when you power it off.  So, you can't setup a task that automatically runs and it's not possible to configure this into the WinPE build since the features to automate are not available within the WinPE tools.

Other than that, if you're good with manually running that backup though, go for it.  I like offline backups myself, but you do lose the automation part of Acronis going this route.
