ATI 2018 Backup Fails because of Synology NAS login failure - reboot of Synology fixes issue
Hello ATI 2018 Community,
Running ATI 2018 and have three twice per week jobs backing up data from my Synology NAS to my local PC HD. These jobs have been successful but over the last month or two I have started to see failures start to occur every two weeks.
The jobs all use the same backup user ID & Password to connect to the NAS. The credentials are correct because I am able to see the folder tree on the NAS. The backup jobs run successfully for about two weeks and then I will get a failure notice. When I check the error i see either
"Cannot find the files or folders selected for the backup."
OR
Access to the file is denied. (0x40014)
function = "WNetAddConnection3W", Show details
If I open the back up job and click on source, it prompts me (pre populated) for the userID/Pass to connect to my Synology NAS. If i click test, the connection fails. After testing this a few times, I discovered that if I reboot my Synology NAS, the pre-populated creds start working. To further prove this I have rebooted the NAS when I receive notice that backup job #1 (runs Monday & Friday) failed. Then when Jobs 2 (runs Tuesday/Sat) & 3 (runs Wed/Sun) run they use the same creds and have no issues. I have also tested this theory but rebooting after job #2 has a failure.
I have removed a recreated the jobs as well and still seem to run into this strange problem. Any other ATI/Synology users out there seen something like this?
