Backup database issues?

Thread needs solution

I'm wondering if the old issue where ATI would get confused and be unable to find earlier backups in a chain (even when they're right there in the same folder) may still live on in 2018? The last coupe of days I've started to get the dreaded "-2" version backups and be prompted "cannot find #1, #2, etc." when opening backups.

I deleted the entire backup task and chain and recreated it in the hope of resolving the issue, but wondering if I should also delete some database files to reset whatever may be corrupt and causing this? In fairness, this was an upgrade from 2017 so it's possible that the conversion left legacy issues.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,
Philip.

Philip, if you are seeing backup .TIB files with v1-2 at the end of the name, then this indicates that Acronis found an existing file with the same name in the destination folder.

This can happen for various reasons, including if you have done a recovery then continued a backup task.

I have not seen many reports of database problems since 2018 was introduced, that I can remember that is, but if you have deleted and recreated the backup task then this should have cleanup up the references in the internal database.
