Bootable media

Thread needs solution

I have created a bootable USB drive as well as a CD. When I attempt to boot from either of these all I get is a black screen with the Windows 10 logo and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks

In both instances I used the 'simple' method for creating the media

How long did you wait after you see the Windows logo?  Some machines take a fair amount of time to load the application when booting the media.  You may need to wait longer.

About a minute or two - I'll try again and wait longer - How much longer should I allow

My machine specs.

Operating System
    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
    Intel Core i7 @ 3.20GHz    31 °C
    Coffee Lake 14nm Technology
RAM
    16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1197MHz (16-16-16-39)
Motherboard
    Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. H370 HD3-CF (U3E1)    37 °C
Graphics
    DELL P2214H (1920x1080@60Hz)
    Intel UHD Graphics 630 (Gigabyte)
Storage
    465GB Crucial CT500MX500SSD1 (SATA (SSD))
    1863GB Western Digital WDC WD20EFRX-68AX9N0 (SATA )    29 °C
Optical Drives
    ASUS DRW-24D5MT

I have never timed it but I can say that on my machines it takes about 3 minutes to load on average.

Thanks, yes I was being too impatient. It eventually booted to the ATI interface.

Good to hear!  Thanks for confirming.
