Clone laptop drive to another internal, partitioned drive

Thread needs solution

I probably didn't represent the title accurately, but here's what I'm hoping to accomplish...

I want to clone my laptop's 256GB drive to my secondary (1TB) drive.  That secondary drive is partitioned into two drives (D:\ and E:\).  Each partition takes up 1/2 of the 1TB drive.

I thought that Acronis would allow me to clone my primary drive to the second partition (E:\) on my secondary drive; however, it will only allow me to select the full secondary drive.

Any chance this is possible?  For some reason, I lose the MBR on my primary drive a couple times per year (I think it's due to static).  Any help would be most appreciated.

The clone tool is a copy tool that copies complete disk bit by bit to another complete disk.  The tool will not work as you envision using the clone tool.

A full disk image backup of your disk stored on your secondary drive however could be restored to your primary drive when needed and achieve the same result as the clone.
