Difference between Rescue Media USB and CD

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have updated to TI 2018. Then I created an USB Recovery Stick (Advanced - Linux Based). This Stick was not recognized by the PC during the boot (it is not shown in Boot menu) - Only USB 3.0 Ports. When I create an Rescue CD everything is fine on the same Device with the Same USB ports.

I know that the USB Stick is well, because an Windows 10 Install works from this stick.

So can anybody explain how I can create an USB Boot device with the same content that is shhown on the CD.

Thanks an Kind regards
Thomas

We see this issue most often when a USB flash drive has been previously used as a boot device.  The remedy is  to full format the flash drive which will overwrite all data.

There are times when I have seen this not work but they are rare.  In these cases I use Windows Diskpart to Clean the drive then format the drive.  This has always worked.
