Disc Defrag After Acronis 2018 TI Backup Completed

When I first started using Acronis TI, I installed TI 2010 on my Windows XP system. One of the things I was told and/or read about via Acronis instructions and/or forums is that it was not advisable to perform a disc defrag between "full" backups as a recovery might not be totally accurate and/or successful. Is that caveat still true ? My method of backup choice is a Full backup with 4 differentials in between; therefore, just before my next backup is going to be a "full" backup, I usually perform a "manual" defrag and then do the full backup. I just noticed that in my Norton Internet Security SW, the option of Idle Optimization (i.e. defrag) got turned was turned on, so my existing backups "might" be tainted ??
I can do a new "full" backup with no problem, but I'd like to know the answer to the above question anyway as if it doesn't matter, then I'll leave the Norton feature turned on and not worry about it. If there's still a possibility of defrag tainting the backup accuracy I will adhere to the "never" doing a defrag between full backups.

Don, the basic advice about defrag is still valid but with the latest Windows OS versions, it is very rarely needed to do this type of disk management. Windows itself provides 'maintenance' tools that do this on a regular schedule as well as it being integrated into other utility software such as your Norton security.
Acronis does work at a sector level when performing disk & partition backups but again the technology is moving on and it now also does more tracking of changes where this is possible to try to improve the overall backup performance.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The C: drive is SSD (128 GB) and the D: drive is conventional (1 TB). So, you say that W-10 does "auto" defrag ?? Is there a setup process I need to do ?? The only thing in my Norton settings is to turn on what they call "optimization", but it amounts to a defrag step. I guess I should just leave the Norton setting off and forget about defrag ?? However, I'm looking to Acronis to tell me what to do in relation to their 2018 SW running on my W-10 system. So, in this case, just tell me whether to "not" defrag if that's the case and also what if anything I need to setup on W-10 to manage my SSD. I remember in Acronis 2010 version, backing up at the "sector" level was a "separate" option to check if I wanted that and it took lots more time. Are you saying in the 2018 version that's the "only" way to backup as I've not seen the sector "checkbox". Thanks in advance.

Don, some screen shots from my Windows 10 system.
