How tolerant is the Changed Block Tracking of failures such as BSOD, etc. ?

Thread needs solution

One of my concerns with this new version is the live CBT technology. One of the things I liked about earlier versions was that they actually did the comparison at the time of backup. This allowed one to be sure that no changes were being missed, even if it meant a slightly longer backup time. I'm concerned that if the system relies on a live change tracker it might miss changes if the system ABENDS in some way or the tracking driver has issues. This was a problem with Ghost / SSR and even with Shadow Protect (although the latter tended to detect these issues better and do a full compare when needed).

Has anybody tested for this scenario? Any concerns?

Philip, I am not aware of any further documentation provided by Acronis that describes the functionality and reliability of the new Changed Block Tracking feature in ATIH 2018, but I would expect that Acronis have made provision for handling any issues arising from a system crashes, BSOD, fatal errors etc.

It is too early to have seen any reports of any issues in this area with the short time that 2018 has been available and I do not believe there were any reports in this area during the Beta testing phase of product testing.

Thanks Steve - good to know at least that there weren't issues reported during the beta.
