Login credentials issue with Synology NAS when using low-level recover manager
I need to do a full disk restore on the main disk of a Windows PC. I therefore need to use the low-level recover manager. My backup data is stored on a Synology NAS box. When I attempt to connect to the NAS, I am asked for login credentials. No matter what user/password combination I try, my credentials are refused. I have tried using my windows credentials, my Synology credentials, and the Synology admin credentials. Nothing works.
I can connect to the Synology NAS from my Apple TV, Amazon TV, and my various iOS devices with no problem using my Synology credentials. By that I mean the user/password combination that I established using the "User" app that is part of the Synology OS. Furthermore, the low-level recovery manager sees the NAS box as both a NAS Server and a WORKGROUP network device. I just can't log into it.
I have tried booting using Rescue Media burned onto a DVD as well as running from the Startup Recover Manager (F11 boot option). I have tried tweaking various settings on the Synology NAS. After five days of trying this and that I am reaching out for help.
I am using ATI 2018 Build 15470. The Synology NAS has the latest software.

If you cannot connect, try mapping the network drive in the rescue media using " net use" command.... Or use A43 file explorer or penetwork to do this. The MVP tool will make both easier since it has access to those tools in GUI format where it's more user friendly.

Success! Using the MVP Custom rescue media and mapping the network drive was the magic. I REALLY wish I had reached out to this forum about a week ago.
Thank you Steve Smith and Bobbo_3C0X1 for your help.

Michael, glad it all worked for you.

Ditto to Steve! Glad you're up and running again.
I expect we'll see more oddities with mapped network drives in rescue media as Windows 10 continues to apply stronger security (no HomeGroup sharing, removal of older SMB versions, etc.)... especially if the NAS devices aren't updating firmware as often either.
