Migration of Windows paratiotion from hard disk to SSD?

Thread needs solution

Sorry if similar subject was discussed already here.

I am planning to install 512 gb SSD.  Then, question is how to migrate windows partition from hard disk into SSD using a backup tib (from the hard disk).  Is it possible to migrate?   My Dell desktop OS is windows 10.

Jorge, this should be a straight-forward activity providing that your new SSD will be a direct replacement for your current HDD drive, i.e. will physically replace that drive using the same cables etc.

If so, then make a full disk & partitions backup of the HDD including all hidden/system partitions.

Make the Acronis Rescue media on CD/DVD or USB stick (latter preferred).

Run the command msinfo32 in Windows and find the BIOS mode value.  This is how you must boot the Acronis Rescue media, i.e. if Windows boots using UEFI, so must the rescue media.

Shutdown the computer, remove the HDD, replace with the SSD, then boot the rescue media with your external backup drive connected, then restore the backup to the new SSD.
