Phantom Drive in "This PC"

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I recently upgraded to True Image 2018 AND to the Windows 10 Fall update. The problem may be connected.

The gist of the problem is illustrated in the 3 cropped screenshots, which hopefully indicate what's up if my explanation is inadequate.

However, for the sake of completeness, if I have the "Acronis Scheduler Service Helper" enabled, I have a phantom drive (M:\, on my PC) present on the system.

It matches my system drive in terms of capacity/capacity used, but contains a seemingly infinite tree of empty folders. It DOES NOT appear in "Disk Management" and "mountvol <drive> /D" doesn't help either, returning an error.

To reiterate, no "Acronis Scheduler Service Helper", no phantom drive.

Not a massive issue, but it's really irritating. :)

Thanks in advance.

JohnK, welcome to these User Forums.

The 'phantom' drive you are seeing is a part of the Acronis Mobile Backup function.

Please see KB 59584: Acronis True Image 2017: how to change Acronis Drive letter which still applies for ATI 2018 in case you need to assign a different drive letter than M:
