Ransomware protection driver - how to uninstall.

Thread needs solution

How do I uninstall?

Yes - I have turned off the service - but the icon (grey) still shows in the Windows system tray.

This service seems redundat over other programs I have.

It is not possible to uninstall Active Protection because it is a built in feature of True Image.  You can disable it from starting using Windows Services.msc but the system tray icon will remain.

I have the same issue -- It shows as disabled in the app, system services and startup and still the process shows in Task Manager as using 205,604 K memory! How do I truly and permanently disable it?

I only use Acronis True Image in order to periodically clone my HD and neither need nor want anything else in the app -- but this persistent pig is not acceptable...

Susan, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you have turned off AAP via the system tray icon and stopped then set the AAP Service to disabled, you should then restart the computer to ensure any residual task is ended.

Thanks much, Steve -- as it happened, I did that last night after writing here and I see that the process is gone -- so that advice is spot on.

Glad the advice helped Susan, thank for the feedback.
