Update 3, Checksum & Delete Version/s

Thread needs solution

I logged into my account & downloaded the "full" update. I tried to access the MD5 checksum to validate the download, but when I click on that button, it wants to start another download!

Also, when are we going to be able to delete version/s of backups without having to boot to the removable media. This used to be an option, but was removed!

Gary, the MD5 checksum doesn't seem to give an option to allow you to copy the value as was possible with the previous Acronis website, which means you would need to manually copy the checksum if you want to verify it!

Sorry, but there is no reason to have to boot to the Rescue Media just to delete old backup files - this will not help in terms of making any changes to the Acronis Database where information about backups that you create via the ATI GUI is held.

If you need to manually delete backup files, then you need to run a Validation for the GUI task that created those files, and then take the Ignore option for each pop-up error message given.

The recommended method of managing backup files is to use the Automatic Cleanup rules to do this, where ATI deletes unwanted files and updates the database for this.

Automatic cleanup only works on completed version chains, i.e. a Full backup plus any associated Incremental or Differential backup files that have the same _B?_ indicator in the file name, and then only after the next backup chain has been started successfully with a new Full backup file.
