Upgrading to ATI 2018

Thread needs solution

Hi,

What about my current backups when upgrading from ATI 2017 ? Should I restart everything from scratch ?

Thanks.

With the latest build of ATI 2018 it seems to pickup backup tasks created in ATI 2017 without issue. I upgrade my Dell Notebook last night and it worked perfectly. So there is probably no net to restart everything from scratch.

One great feature of ATI 2018 is the ability to save and retrieve your settings (useful when something goes wrong during an update - more common with beta build than release builds).

Well, no luck. During the update, I got the following error message :

Product: Acronis True Image 2018
Build: 9660
Date: 29/09/2017
Time: 08:34:47
More info: Acronis Knowledge Base

Error details:

The system cannot move the file to a different disk drive

Which file ?!?!?!?! Which drive ?!?!?!?!

OK. I relaunched the installer as an administrator and it worked this time. This should be mentioned in the installation instructions.

Agreed; it seems to be normal to require the use of 'run as administrator'. I was surprised a week ago when I got an error message not to run as administrator - later the program in question asked for administrator privileges.
