What is the Express Backup method?

Thread needs solution

I just noticed that my status emails say

Volume 'C:' has been backed up using the Express Backup method

I'm doing a disk backup using an incremental scheme. I couldn't find any reference to the Express Backup method in the documentation.

Jerry, good question!  I have seen other users mention the same but have not seen this myself as of yet!  Just did a clean install of ATI 2018 on Windows 10 and ran a new backup and just got the normal 'Operation has succeeded' message in my email notification.  This was the initial full backup for an incremental scheme.

I don't have email notification turned on so (obviously) don't see it in emails, but did I see it in the Acronis log for a "Disks and partitions" backups - one message for each volume:

"I00100000: Volume 'C:' has been backed up using the Express Backup method.", etc.

I did not see it when a full backup is taken nor when the message "Volume Tracker has failed to find changes on volume 'C:'" is displayed.

Express backup method applies to incremental/differential backups and is intended to make these backups faster by comparing what has changed in the data chosen for backup and only backing up such changes.
