backup password protected
I have created a backup of my hard disk by using the BootCD.
The tib file was saved to an external USB Disk.
The backup was sucessfully.
To create the backup I selected no option. (No password, no encrytion, no comment, ... nothing)
After booting windows again I wanted to test if I can browse the tib file in my windows explorer.
When I double click the tib file I get a popup which asks me for Windows cedentials!?
Why?
I tried the local administrator without success.
Next try:
I booted my pc again from the boot cd and tried to recover a single file out of the backup.
And there I was able to browse the tib file without any credentials.
I am using Windows7 pro 64 Bit and my PC is a domain member.
Can someone tell me why I need credentials to open the tib file within Windows?
And can someone tell me which credentials?

Like Steve I have never encountered this behaviour. Could it be related to a Windows Defender setting where you can now protect files/folders? (At least that is my understanding.)

I have copied the tib file from the USB drive to my build in drive.
Now I can browse the content of the tib file.
So, looks like I have to dig in into the configuration of my security tools.
Problem is solved for now.
Thanks for the responses.

Jurgen, thank you for the update, certainly sounds like your USB drive is password protected in some way, but strange that this does not show up when accessing outside of Windows? Glad you have found a circumvention by copying the file to your internal drive.
