Backup to two different hard drives?

Thread needs solution

Ok, this is what I want to do.  I have two 2 TB USB drives.  I want to always keep one of them offsite, so if my house burns down, I always have a good copy.  (Cloud backups work but take forever to restore 1 TB of data and I don't necessarily completely trust cloud backups.)  So, is there a way to setup Acronis to backup all the folders to one of the hard drives.  It should do a full backup and then incrementals.  But then when I swap the drives it should know it's a different drive and the first backup will be a full backup then incrementals again.

David, ATI does not play very nicely when you start swapping destination drives for a single backup task and will put up error messages when it can't find the files that it expects to be on the drive connected.

The recommended method is to create one backup task per one destination drive and run the designated task when the associated drive is connected.

There are options in the application settings to allow the backup to run when the correct drive is connected but this may not be convenient if you want the backup to run when the computer is not being used actively etc.

Easiest is to just create a separate task for each drive. You can't have some Inc backups in one drive and some on the other (for the same backup scheme) anyway.

As you rotate the drives back to the PC, the missed backup will pick up where it left off last on that drive with the associated task.

Hello David,

Acronis True Image does not support backup to swapping drives in a single backup plan, but recommendations shared by Steve and Bobbo should work just fin.
I've added this topic as a vote for the existing feature request TI-32805 Support backup to removable drives with a regular swap.
