Can't stop validation

I accidentally hit the "Validate" button for a backup. This backup task backs up my booted system drive to a hard drive on another computer on my LAN. I hit "Stop" but the validate task doesn't stop. The screen gets grayed out, and the little "busy wheel" keeps on spinning. I can see the progress slide bar slowly, but surely, inching to the right indicating that the validate task is progressing. I just had to allow the validate to complete in order to get control back of the ATI GUI.

Now, I have a different aspect of this problem. Perhaps it's because of the fact that I started a validation and then attempted to cancel it (but it wouldn't cancel....see above), but now any time I look at that backup task, I see the blue circle with an "i" in the middle indicating that there is a bit of information about that backup task ATI wants to tell me about. The message is:
"Validation has been canceled by the user"
The problem is that this blue circle indicator and the message never goes away (even after the backup task runs again). There seems no way to get rid of it. I presume I can delete that backup task and create a new equivalent one, but I'd rather avoid that.
Perhaps I should create an official "trouble report" to Acronis on this problem area.

Sandy, the only way to get the blue circle status indicator to change / go away would be to perform the validation and let it run to completion.
