Thread solved

......Acronis TI for Crucial. I don't need the recovery partition as it's an old version of Win Home & I've Win 10 Pro.

I created a backup and a emergency boot USB stick, verified it, and did the auto recovery. After all said and done I had an identical (system sees 250 GB SSD) system that works. How do I create a bootable 500GB instead of a bootable 250GB drive?

Bob, welcome to these public User Forums.

If your 500GB SSD is being seen as only 250GB after recovering your backup to that new drive, then ATI did not automatically resize the partitions to fit the new drive.

The easiest method of solving this is to download a copy of the free MiniTool Partition Wizard software and use this to move / resize the partitions to use the full drive size.

Well Steve, I managed to create an extra drive "G" that allocated the missing GB's making them useful. Thank you kind sir, much appreciated.

Bob, happy to have been able to help, thanks for the feedback.
