Mirror Backup Capability

Thread needs solution

I would like to get close to a mirror backup as possible.

I understand if I use a full backup followed by differential backups, I only need the initial full backup and the last differential backup to recover my files. Is that correct?

However, after I do a full backup, I may delete a number of files and folders from my computer and then do a differential backup. When I restore the initial full backup and the last differential backup, will the deleted files and folders still appear??

Thank you

Ed

Edward, welcome to these public User Forums.

This was true for most older versions of ATI up to 2019 but please be aware that it no longer holds true for ATI 2020 where all files are now dependent on each other, so all are needed when doing a recovery!

When doing any recovery, the starting point should always be with the latest differential backup, not with the original full backup for that backup chain.  Selecting the differential will then pick up the full backup and the recovered files will reflect how the files and folders were when the differential was created, excluding all deleted files etc.
